Dear Parents/Guardians:

Welcome to the month of May! Needless to say, as the school year winds down, things are busier than usual. Please keep this newsletter and the May Calendar handy for reference.

Some important days/events/reminders:

Monday, May 5th - May Crowning practice (mainly grades 2 and 8)
Tuesday, May 6th - May Crowning at 7:00 PM. This is a scheduled event; we expect to see all students in grades K through 8. We will meet in the Gym at 6:30 PM. Dress Code for the May Crowning is as follows:
Kindergarten - "Sunday Best"
Grade 2 - First Communion attire
Grade 1 and 3 through 7 - Full uniform, no gym-wear or shorts.
Grade 8 Girls - a modest dress or skirt and blouse. Shoes must be white flats with closed backs and no open toe. Girls will be wearing light blue gowns for the May Crowning (provided by the school), so please dress in a light (white or pastel) color.
Grade 8 Boys - dress shirts, ties, belts, dress socks (not white), dress shoes, and either a suit or dress pants and a sport coat.
Friday, May 9th - "Muffins and Moms", 7:00 AM. Moms - this event is for you. It is a time for you to start your morning off with your child(ren). Muffins, juice, milk, and coffee will be served in our cafeteria starting at 7AM until 8AM. Children need to be accompanied by their mom, grandmother, aunt, or older female role model to attend.
Tuesday, May 13th - Spring Concert will be held at 7:00 PM. Pre-K through 5th grade will be participating. All students are required to participate. Children should report to their homerooms no later than 6:30 PM. All students in Pre-K through 5th grade are expected to attend. This is a part of the Third Trimester grade. "Admission" for the Spring Concert is a canned good (fruit or vegetable) and something from the following list:
Pre-K -Tissues, paper towels
Kindergarten -Plastic wrap, lunch bags, aluminum foil, napkins
Grade 1- Laundry detergent, fabric softener, cleanser, dish detergent
Grade 2- Deoderant, toothpaste
Grade 3- Cake mixes, frosting
Grade 4 & 5- Salad dressing, powdered juices, coffee, sugar, powdered coffee creamer

May 15th through May 22nd - 7th & 8th Grade Finals Week
Thursday, May 22nd - Planning Day - NO SCHOOL
Friday, May 23rd - Faculty Retreat - NO SCHOOL
Monday, May 26th - Memorial Day - NO SCHOOL

Wednesday, June 4th - Eighth Grade Field Trip.
Saturday, June 7th - Eighth Grade Graduation at 10:00 AM
Monday, June 9th - Field Day
Tuesday, June 10th - Kindergarten Graduation, 10:00 AM. Last day of school for Kindergarteners.
Wednesday, June 11th - Shortened Full Day - Dismissal at 12:05 PM
Thursday, June 12th - Shortened Full Day - Dismissal at 12:05 PM. Last day of school for Pre-K.
Friday, June 13th - Last day of school for Grades 1 - 7. Awards Assembly at 9:30 AM, followed by Mass at 10:00 AM. Dismissal at 11:00 AM.

A Special Congratulations to those children from our school and parish who celebrated their First Eucharist on Saturday, April 26th.
